Statue of Liberty – Reconstructed. Height 8.5 feet, constructed with 39 yards of hardware cloth. It took 6 1/2 months to complete during the spring of 2009. It has many special effects when colored light is projected on it also. None of these effects were planned into the initial design or construction of the piece.

This sculpture is by far the most controversial piece I've made in the past 20 years. After the initial construction, it was discovered that the sculpture projected unusual shadow casts when a spotlight was positioned from different directions. The following images are what appeared when a spotlight was positioned behind the sculpture at about knee level and slightly to the right.

This image was not designed into the piece, it just appeared as a shadow cast.
